When I wore ballgowns EVERYDAY at Fairy Godmother, I had a closet full of FG gowns(more than 2 dozen) that ranged from size 12-16 and I had plenty of favorites in each size, so I didn't give myself a hard time when I was in a bigger gown because it was magical regardless of the "number". I'm 57 and I', going to my Faerie Convention this week for the third year in a row, and as I look at the pictures from the previous years, and try to squeeze into costumes that no longer fit, I am feeling a bit of despair. How did this happen to me? Where did that massive stomach come from, what is that huge double chin doing there, why are there wrinkles around my eyes? I've worked out some new costumes, and I notice I forgive other women my age for "looking their age", but me? I wasn't supposed to age, I was supposed to stay young forever. I feel young, why don't I look young? Boy, it was good to get these things off my chest, I don't really have anyone I can share these thoughts with.
